Property Access for Repairs

For a repair to be carried out, a Contractor usually has to get in to a property during the day. This is often difficult for tenants who are at work themselves. It is very important that clear arrangements are made for access.

If you tell the Society you will be home on certain days, it is important that these arrangements are kept, as wasted calls by Contractors are expensive. If you cannot be at home regularly, give the Society a telephone number where you can be contacted.

If the Contractor calls and you are out, a card will be left requesting you to contact them to arrange another appointment. If a second call is made and the Contractor fails to gain access to your home, the job will be cancelled.

All the Society's Contractors carry identification. Do not hesitate to inspect it before letting anyone in to your home. If you are unsure, please contact the Maintenance Section.
