If an emergency arises out of office hours and it cannot wait until the office re-opens you should telephone the LHA Control Centre on

The Control Centre staff will ask you some questions about the problem and if convinced it is an emergency will call the appropriate contractor or member of staff to assist.

The following are considered to be emergencies:

• Total loss of electrical power
• Total loss of heating or hot water
• Flooding
• Broken windows
• Lock-outs

Lock-Outs

If you are locked out during office hours a key can be borrowed from Reception (with payment of a deposit). If you are locked out when the office is closed then you can call the LHA Control Centre (255 0711) and request assistance BUT THERE WILL BE A CHARGE MADE BY THE PERSON WHO LETS YOU BACK IN. This is currently around £50 so it is best not to lock yourself out or lose your keys.

This is not a LNHA service but one provided voluntarily by one or two of our contractors who will require payment. To facilitate this you will not have to pay immediately but will have to sign a job sheet accepting responsibility for the charge. LNHA will recover the charge for the contractor from you shortly afterwards.
